As a scout, planning events was an integral part of my life. I just never thought of it as anything more than a hobby. I embarked on my journey to get my degree in Biology at Howard University in 2000 and during my tenure there, I gained something far more valuable than a degree.

During my first week at HU, I joined a group called the HU Caribbean Students' Association (HUCSA). Due to my drive, I was recruited as the assistant PRO within the second week. From there, I took part in the organisation and promotiong of events ranging from family days to concerts working with some of the big names in the entertainment industry such as Gregory "Chin" Bourne (from Irish and Chin - the producers of the internationally renowned "World Clash" series). I was one of the main persons involved in the production of what was hailed as the best HU Homecoming Party to that date in 2001. I realised that I not only had a natural knack for this, but I enjoyed it.

After a year back home in Trinidad, I started to pursue a degree in UWI where I joined the Trinidad & Tobago Students' Association. In fact, I was one of the founders of this organisation as it was two separate entities before. My event management not only continued, but grew from there. I was able to be a part of the production of tour series, a UWI Campus Carnival band and even a National Youth Crime Symposium.

I then went on to join the UWI Student Activities Committee where I organised cultural shows, a calypso competiton and was part of the committee to organise the entire Campus Carnival.

As deep as I was into the entertainment industry, I decided to try my hand at artiste management. This also proved to be a success as the links that I had made as an event organiser enabled me to get "gigs" (performances) for those whom I managed. I also worked for some years as a stage manager and have been the first person to call when someone needs a stage manager for many events.

I have now taken things to the next level where I not only organise events, but I advertise such events on my website - some of which I also design the flyers for.

I therefore welcome you to the world of Chau Promotions and hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to contact me for further information.
